Commonwealth Government Programs

From 1 July 2014, the following websites are to be merged into a consolidated, single government resource for business, www.business.gov.au:

  • ausindustry.gov.au
  • enterpriseconnect.gov.au
  • commercialisationaustralia.gov.au
  • skillsconnect.gov.au
  • crc.gov.au

New programs announced in the Commonwealth budget are on the www.business.gov.au site.

The Business Management programs, as part of the Entrepreneurs Infrastructure Fund, are now available, see www.business.gov.au   Other aspects of the program will be available late in 2014.

The first round of the new Manufacturing Transition Program closed on 24 October 2014.   The next closing date has not been announced.

The new Trade Support Loans to assist Apprentices are now available, see http://www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au/trade-support-loans.   This will replace 10 previous training programs.

The new Industry Skills Fund to assist Employers will not be available until January 2015.   

The New Accelerating Commercialisation program has just been openedYou can submit an EOI and if deemed eligible, a formal application can be made.  Successful applicants will receive:

  • an invitation to join a Portfolio of successful applicants
  • guidance from a Commercialisation Adviser to help achieve project objectives
  • an opportunity to access the Expert Network to help make important business connections, create opportunities to raise capital, and/or enter new markets
  • the chance for exposure to investors and multi-national corporations through domestic and international roadshows.

If your project is accepted for a grant, up to 50 per cent of your eligible project expenditure will be covered to help you in the commercialisation process.
