Overview:
FoodStream is now offering this three day short course in Singapore. Over the past six years, this course has been highly successful and presented in Australia, Bangkok, and New Zealand. Participants in the Bangkok courses have travelled from at least ten countries with almost all from private companies. Owing to the success of these courses, we have now decided to offer this course in Singapore.
The course covers the principles of extrusion, the design of extrusion processes, and the formulation of extruded products. The program is relevant to the production of all types of extruded products - including expanded snacks and breakfast cereals, pastas and third generation snack pellets, pet foods and aqua-feeds.
Please note: All presentations are in English.

Planned presentations include: - Principles of extruder configurations (single and twin screw) - Role of rheology in extrusion - Die types and effects, die design - Extrusion chemistry - Recipe design - Product texture development - Causes and effects of extruder instability - Single screw extruders vs twin screw extruders - Screw, barrel, and die-plate wear, extruder maintenance
The fundamentals of peripheral systems (e.g. raw materials pre-processing, preconditioning, product drying) are also covered.
