Overview:
This Workshop provides participants with practical information on aquafeed production technology with special reference to extrusion processes. Specialists with extensive expertise have been invited to share their knowledge and experience in extruded feed production. The Workshop program provides an opportunity for those experienced in extrusion technology, to gain updated information on aquafeed extrusion processes, and interact with experts. It can also serve as a very useful reference for those who are new to aquafeed nutrition and extruded feed production.
When: Friday 5 May 2006.
Where: Roseworthy Campus of Adelaide University at Gawler in South Australia.
Registration Fee: $550 + GST (If combined with attendance at the Food & Feed Extrusion short course total fee of $1750 for all four days.)
A discount of 10% will apply for registrations fully paid by 31 March, or for three or more participants from the one company. To ensure a place please register by 18 April.
The registration fee includes handout notes directly related to the presentations, lunch, and morning and afternoon tea.

Program Topics:
The following tropic are planned for the workshop: Trends and Challenges in Aquaculture and Aquafeed industry Aqua Nutrition and Feed Production process Recent Developments in Aquafeeds Preservation of Feed Quality Ingredient preparation and its effect on the process and the feed Formulating extruded aquafeed diets: meeting nutritional and processing constraints simultaneously Single Screw Extruders and Applications in Aqua Feed High Fat Extrusion and Product Densification Practical Sessions: Demonstrate basic process and the effects of varying extrusion parameters on fish feed production

Who should attend?
Anyone involved in the production or use of extruded aquafeeds: with an interest in their formulation, nutritional or physical quality, and/or the manufacturing technology used.
Venue:
Roseworthy Campus of Adelaide University at Gawler in South Australia, utilising the Australian Experimental Stockfeed Extrusion Centre (AESEC). Travel time between the Campus and Adelaide airport is about 1 hour & 15 minutes.
Accommodation:
On-campus accommodation: This is student type accommodation: private bedrooms but shared facilities (linen, towels, soap supplied). Cost is $55 per night + GST, including dining room breakfast and dinner. On-campus accommodation must be booked with registration
Participants staying off-campus are responsible for their own accommodation and transport arrangements. A listing of some hotels in the local area is available: Link to Outside Accommodation List.
Course dinner:
In association with the Food & Feed Extrusion short course, a three course dinner is being organised for the evening of Wednesday 3 May at Vintners Bar & Grill Restaurant at Angaston in the Barossa Valley. Any Aquafeed Extrusion Workshop participants who are in the area are welcome to attend. Cost will be $85 per person + GST, including bus transport, three course dinner, and table wines. Bookings should be made with registration.
Cancellation policy:
Fees, less a 10% handling charge, will be refunded if participants cancel their registration 14 days or more prior to the course. Fees will not be refunded after that date, but a substitute participant will be accepted at any time.
FoodStream Pty Ltd reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course if necessary (eg insufficient registrations). In this case a full refund of fees will be available.
